James D. Pillen

James D. Pillen, DVM, Progressive Swine Technologies, founded in 1994 by Jim Pillen is a high tech food business that produces premium quality pork. The performance of the PST group businesses places them in the top 5 percent of the industry globally. State of the art reproductive operations and farrow through finish facilities are located in Nebraska and South Dakota. Dr. Pillen grew up on his family’s farm in rural Platte County, Nebraska and received his BS in 1979 and his DVM from Kansas State in 1983. While at the University of Nebraska, Dr. Pillen was a three-year letterman on the football team. He is active at the St. Isidore Catholic Church, Scotus Central Catholic High School, the Nebraska TeamMates program, the UNL President’s Advisory Council, and the American Heart Association.
