The 26th Annual Robert Mittelstaedt Doctoral Symposium will be held next spring from March 30 – April 2, 2017.
The Robert Mittelstaedt Doctoral Symposium brings together students and faculty from universities in the Big Ten, Big 12
and other conferences to share and discuss their research. The objective of this symposium is to foster discussion, collaboration
and fellowship primarily among doctoral students, but also faculty.
We have greatly enjoyed the past symposia and have high expectations for this one in the spring. We hope that your school
will participate in the success of next year’s symposium and look forward to welcome you and your colleagues to Lincoln.
The symposium starts with an information welcome reception on Thursday night at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. On Friday, doctoral students
will present and discuss their research during the day, and join a banquet in the evening. The remaining presentations will be held on Saturday
morning. The symposium officially ends after lunchtime on Saturday.
We schedule 16 presentations maximum at the Robert Mittelstaedt Symposium. Every presenter will be assigned a discussant that
has the opportunity to discuss the paper before the floor is opened up to other questions. We encourage you also to send a faculty
member to help provide constructive feedback.
The symposium is held at Courtyard by Marriott, which is located in the Railyard and within walking distance of the College of Business Administration.
We do ask participants to pay for their rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott ($119/night single or double occupancy); however, we provide all
meals on Friday and Saturday. We will coordinate room assignments and make reservations for you at the Courtyard by Marriott, so please do not make
a reservation on your own.
Please note that our format limits us to 16 presentations maximum. Therefore, if more than 16 presenters send forms, the later potential presenters will not be accepted.
Student presenters need to have their papers to us by March 10.
