Department Awards and Honors
Dr. Amit Saini
Students nominate faculty who have made an impact on their educational experience. The Scholarships, Honors, and Awards Committee reviews the nominees teaching philosophy and syllabi and selects the college winner.
Recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Teaching award was Dr. Amit Saini, Assistant Professor of Marketing.
Dr. Amit Saini received the Harold and Esther Edgerton Junior Faculty Award. This award is presented each year to honor an outstanding Junior Faculty Member who has demonstrated creative research, extraordinary teaching abilities, and academic promise. This award provides a strong incentive for pre-tenure faculty to expand their expertise and enhance learning at UNL. Dr. Saini will be known as the Harold and Esther Edgerton Assistant Professor for the two years of the award.
Dr. A. Dwayne Ball was selected as the 2006 James A. Lake Academic Freedom Award recipient. This award is presented by the UNL Academic Senate and the Academic Freedom Award Committee. The Academic Senate established this award in 1980 to honor someone who has "supported, defended, explained, and applied the principles of academic freedom at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln."
