Each year, the College of Business Administration awards approximately $500,000 in scholarships to current undergraduate students pursuing a degree in CBA. While academic standing plays a large part in awarding scholarships, other factors, such as financial need, major, membership in student organizations within the College, and special interests, etc., are also used to determine recipients.
As you complete the Upperclass Scholarship Application, you will designate your college as CBA. When you do that, you will respond to a series of questions related to our specific scholarships. Your responses to these questions determines your eligibility for those scholarships.
To determine your eligibility for need-based scholarships, you must complete the University of Nebraska Upperclass Scholarship Application (above) as well as a current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). For questions regarding this process, please refer to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid website: http://www.unl.edu/scholfa/.
In addition to general scholarships offered by the College, businesses and professional organizations award scholarships to CBA students, ranging between $500 and $2,500 per year. Announcements for these scholarships are made periodically throughout the year, via the college newsletter (NUZ2UZ) that you receive every Monday through an email.
Study abroad scholarships are also available by completing the Upperclass Scholarship application, through special announcements via NUZ2UZ, and through other options posted through the International Affairs Office.
Distribution of scholarships takes place the fall and spring semesters. All University of Nebraska-Lincoln scholarship recipients can confirm their scholarship awards by checking WAM in mid-July. Check HERE for additional information from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Any renewal indications from a previous year, require you reapply for upperclass scholarships and maintain a 3.7 cumulative GPA. You may not necessarily receive the same scholarship or the same funding amount; however, as long as you apply and maintain the GPA, funding will be made the next year.
