Business Students Graduate as Part of Second Largest UNL Class
More than 2,750 students received their diplomas May 3 and 4 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is the second largest class in the history of UNL.

Beta Alpha Psi Students Compete in Best Practice Competition and Advance to Nationals
Fourteen students from CBA presented in the Best Practice Competition at the regional meeting of Beta Alpha Psi on April 6. The competition, which was held in Kansas City, Kan., had three presentation categories including innovation, inspiration and imagination.

The 2013 Faculty Awards Reception for the College of Business Administration was held, Thursday, April 25 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. Dr. Donde Plowman, the James, Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of CBA, presented the awards to the thirteen award recipients.

UCARE Provides Undergraduate Research Opportunities for Business Students
The UNL UCARE program gives students the chance to participate in research at the undergraduate level. Christine Ochsner, junior accounting and economics major from Geneva, Neb., shared her economics education research with a poster presentation at the Spring UNL Undergraduate Research Fair on April 10.

Over 70 Percent of CBA Students Sign Ethics Code
More than 70 percent of undergraduate students currently enrolled at the UNL College of Business Administration have given their signature of support to the CBA ethics code. The student-written ethics code and belief statement were launched at the State Farm Ethics Day Lecture last year.

Former FBI Informant Featured at Ethics Day Lecture
Dr. Mark Whitacre, Fortune 500 executive turned FBI informant, spoke to over 1,600 business students at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on the importance of making the right decisions. The event was held as part of the Business Ethics Program’s Spring Ethics Day Lecture.

CBA Faculty and Staff Honored by UNL Parents Association
The UNL College of Business Administration had nine faculty and staff members honored by the UNL Teaching Council and UNL Parents Association at an annual recognition ceremony on Feb. 8. Certificates of recognition for contributions to students were given during the ceremony.

Dean's Advisory Board Member Mark Hesser Talks to CBA Students
Mark Hesser, CBA Dean’s Advisory Board member and alumnus, was recently named to the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking. Hesser, who serves as president of Pinnacle Bank, promotes the bank’s vision of serving local customers through the concept of local control.
