Over 400 CBA Students Graduate at Spring 2012 Ceremony
More than 400 students graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration this spring. They were part of the largest graduation class in the history of UNL with over 2,800 students receiving degrees.

Faculty Awards Recognize Excellence at CBA
The Faculty Awards Reception for the College of Business Administration was held, Wednesday, April 25 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. Dr. Donde Plowman, the James, Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of CBA, presented the awards to the ten award recipients.

Dr. Ann Mari May Provides Expertise in Omaha World-Herald Article Examining Gender Gap
Dr. Ann Mari May, professor of economics at CBA, was interviewed by the Omaha World-Herald with regard to her expertise in feminist economics. Dr. May talked about the issue of the gender gap in pay between women and men in the local work force.

BBR Monthly LEI Report Indicates Small Economic Decline
Dr. Eric Thompson, director of the UNL College of Business Administration Bureau of Business Research, reported a small decline in the Leading Economic Indicator for the state of Nebraska. It was the first decline the BBR has reported since beginning monthly reports earlier this year.

Dr. Giertz Research Referenced in U.S. News and World Report
Dr. Seth Giertz, associate professor of economics at the UNL College of Business Administration, was recently quoted in the U.S. News and World Report for a research article he published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives.

Memorial Service for Longtime UNL Economics Professor Wallace C. Peterson
Long time UNL department of economics professor emeritus, Dr. Wallace Peterson, passed away on April 15, 2012. Peterson taught at UNL for over 40 years after beginning his teaching career in 1951.

Economics graduate students Simon Harvey and Kacey Douglas will both present research topics in their economic seminars to be given at the UNL College of Business Administration. The seminars are both free and open to the public.

Shannon McCoy Studies Financial Literacy in UCARE Project
The UNL UCARE program allows undergraduate students the chance to practice developing their own research project under the tutelage of a faculty sponsor. Shannon McCoy was one of 17 business students who worked on a UCARE project this past school year.

Dr. Yana van der Meulen Rodgers of Rutgers University recently presented her seminar, “Maternal Employment and Child Health: Global Issues and Policy Solutions,” at the UNL College of Business Administration. The seminar focused on feminist research issues related to women and the family.
