More than 2,750 students received their diplomas May 3 and 4 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is the second largest class in the history of UNL.

Devin Lovgren’s pre-professional internship last summer helped prepare him for life after graduating from CBA. After the agribusiness major interned at the Stewart Seed Lab on the UNL East Campus last summer, he acquired the hands-on experience needed in his field.

The 2013 Faculty Awards Reception for the College of Business Administration was held, Thursday, April 25 at the Van Brunt Visitors Center. Dr. Donde Plowman, the James, Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of CBA, presented the awards to the thirteen award recipients.

Target Case Competition Allows Students Real World Marketing Stage
Nine students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration pitched to a panel of professional judges at the Target Case Competition held Friday, April 19, 2013. The competition, which was held at CBA, included three student teams made up of three students. The winning team received a $1,500 grand prize.

A UNL College of Business Administration professor, a staff member and several students were recognized with Spirit of Service awards at the UNL Center for Civic Engagement Celebration of Service on April 12 in the Nebraska Union.

Over 70 Percent of CBA Students Sign Ethics Code
More than 70 percent of undergraduate students currently enrolled at the UNL College of Business Administration have given their signature of support to the CBA ethics code. The student-written ethics code and belief statement were launched at the State Farm Ethics Day Lecture last year.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration Marketing Department held the 22nd annual Robert Mittelstaedt Doctoral Symposium from March 28-30, 2013. This year ISBM dissertation award winner Jeff Johnson presented his research at the proceedings.

Marketing Students Attend 15th Annual National Collegiate Sales Competition
UNL College of Business Administration marketing majors Emma Vavricka and Taylor Lucas competed at the 15th Annual National Collegiate Sales Competition held at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta, Ga. The competition is the world’s largest of its kind.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration researchers will partner with National Research Corporation in a new research project to study the effects of psychological capital on workplace performance in a marketing and sales setting.

The UNL College of Business Administration had nine faculty and staff members honored by the UNL Teaching Council and UNL Parents Association at an annual recognition ceremony on Feb. 8. Certificates of recognition for contributions to students were given during the ceremony.

Marketing is about creating value and developing strong customer relationships. It includes several activities such as:

Conducting research to understand customer needs.
Developing products and services to meet these needs.
Setting the price and making the customers aware of these products and services, through advertising, sales promotion, or personal selling.
Making sure the products and services are available to the customers, as and when they need them.
