Blackboard Browser Requirements Check

If you pass all checks listed below, you should be able to use the main features of Blackboard

If this check fails, refer to the Browser Settings Guide for instructions on enabling Javascript for your browser.

Port 80 Check

This check works by trying to download an image through the specified port.  Port 80 is the standard web (http) port. If the port check fails, please contact your internet service provider to resolve this issue

If this check fails, you need to download and install Adobe Flash Player.

Adobe Shockwave Player Check

If this check fails, you need to download and install the Adobe Shockwave Player.

Windows Media Check

If this check fails, you need to download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin or if you are on a Mac download the Windows Media component for Quicktime
 
 

QuickTime Check

If this check fails, you need to download and install QuickTime.
 
 
No Java Support.

Java Check

If you see nothing to the left (or just a gray box) then Java functionality is not available.

The version of Java that Blackboard currently supports is 1.6.0_x (PC) or 1.5.0_x (Mac).  Older versions may work, but if you're experiencing problems with Blackboard, you should update your Java Plug-in.
