On the heels of the NCAA basketball tournaments, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Center for Entrepreneurship generated its own “April Madness” this week, as more than 40 student teams competed in a bracket format for the right to be crowned champion of the New Venture Competition. Teams showcased business plans to judges during two preliminary rounds on the first day with the final four teams going at it on day two for the right to earn cash prizes from more than $75,000 in total prize money.

Held at the Nebraska Union, undergraduates of all majors and graduate students pitch their business plan to compete for over $75,000 in total prize money. Students who want to participate must register by Sunday, March 25.

The three guests told their stories and emphasized to students the qualities it takes to make an impact as an entrepreneur.
