On the heels of the NCAA basketball tournaments, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Center for Entrepreneurship generated its own “April Madness” this week, as more than 40 student teams competed in a bracket format for the right to be crowned champion of the New Venture Competition. Teams showcased business plans to judges during two preliminary rounds on the first day with the final four teams going at it on day two for the right to earn cash prizes from more than $75,000 in total prize money.

Argha Sen, a fourth-year Ph.D. marketing student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business, formed his graduate research around business relationships, and how they exist in two-sided business-to-business electronic environments. His dissertation on the subject recently won the Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) Doctoral Support Award Competition. In addition, the ISBM named Sen an ISBM Fellow for his dedication to applying knowledge to marketing problems and opportunities.

Students found success during their first semester in Howard L. Hawks Hall. More than 1,000 business students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln were named to the Nebraska Business Dean’s List for the 2017 fall semester. The 929 undergraduate students who earned this recognition upheld a cumulative grade-point average of 3.6 or higher for the semester. The College of Business also honored 237 undergraduate students for attaining a 4.0 GPA.
