Students from all disciplines came together with one simple – develop a plan to sustainably cut down trees at a teak tree farm, find buyers and distribute the trees.

More than 30 students raced across Spain and France during a new study abroad program offered by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration. Called the Husker Race of Spain and France, part of this program was based on the television show “The Amazing Race” in which students asked local people for assistance, made detours to purchase certain items in basic French or Spanish and captured their experiences on their smart phones.

Maddie Stuart is a junior advertising and public relations major and business minor from Lincoln, Nebraska, who left for Europe Thursday, June 30, on one of eight study abroad experiences offered through the UNL College of Business Administration. She is one of 71 students participating in the 28th annual Nebraska at Oxford Program July 17-August 13 at the University of Oxford in England, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Stuart is following in her father’s footsteps as he studied abroad at Oxford in the program’s first class nearly 30 years ago. She is excited to Start Something abroad and share her academic and travel experiences with the CBA community.

Seventy-one University of Nebraska–Lincoln students are participating in the 28th annual Nebraska at Oxford program July 17-August 13. Sponsored by the UNL College of Business Administration, the study abroad program provides four weeks of courses at the University of Oxford in England, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Nebraska at Oxford is the university's most popular study abroad program with more than 1,700 alumni who now live in 39 states and 10 countries.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration and Senshu University in Japan are currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the exchange partnership between the two schools. As part of the celebration, Dr. Yutaka Takahashi, dean of international academic affairs, and Yuta Yazawa, deputy associate manager and study abroad coordinator at Senshu, visited UNL for five days of meetings and cultural exchange.

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is offering a new four-week study abroad program to Spain and France. The faculty-led UNL sponsored program, called Husker Race of Spain and France, will begin July 17 and last until August 13, 2016. The application deadline is February 1.

In 1985, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration and Senshu University signed a student exchange agreement to give students from each university the chance to study for a semester in a different culture. A Senshu 30th Anniversary Celebration was held on Thursday, November 19 in CBA to celebrate this partnership during National International Education Week.

Bailey Fairchild is a junior management major from Lincoln, Nebraska, who left for Brazil on Wednesday, May 13, on one of six study abroad experiences offered through the UNL College of Business Administration. Students will spend three weeks exploring southern Brazil while experiencing the cultural and business aspects of the country. They will also visit two local universities – Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Rob Simon, associate professor of practice in marketing, is one of the faculty advisors for the trip.
