During the four-week period, students will take two lecture/tutorial courses concerning
British political and international economic policy. "Political Economy of Britain
since 1945" traces the development of economic policy in Britain since World War
II. Special emphasis is placed on the Thatcher era, Britain and Europe, and the
post-Thatcher economy.
"International Economics and Business" covers the British approach to business and
economics, including nationalization/privatization, legislation in the United Kingdom,
international trade and business. These courses have been approved for six hours
of UNL credit as Economics 466 and 467, "Proseminar in International Relations."
Non-business students can enroll in a Theater Arts/Literature course. Credit is
given as Theater 398, "The Theater, Arts and Literature of Great Britain." This
course concentrates on Shakespeare and the well-known literature of England since
the Middle Ages. Lectures and tutors for the two courses are from the Jesus College
faculty and staff. Field trips and cultural excursions will supplement the course
lectures and tutorials.
