Wireless network access is available at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The service is free to students, with a monthly fee assessed for employee use.
To gain access on UNL's wireless network, users must have a wireless network card for their mobile device. Most devices have a wireless card built in, but users with older devices may have to purchase an external wireless card. Any 802.11b/g/n built in or external wireless card will be compatible with the wireless network on the entire UNL campus. To gain access, users are required to register the physical address of their wireless card with UNL.
Obtain Cisco's AnyConnect VPN (Virtual Private Network) client by visiting http://vpn.nebraska.edu and selecting the UNL-My.UNL login option from the group dropdown list. After logging in the application will automatically install the VPN client on your computer and place a VPN icon in your system tray. You can also launch the VPN from your applications folder or Start menu.
