The ITS Team designs, maintains, and supports the College's 22 lecture-style classrooms, 3 computer interactive classrooms, 2 computer labs, and 5 conference rooms. All of the classrooms and two of the conference rooms are equipped with ergonomically integrated teaching consoles designed to be responsive to the needs of today's technology users. Each teaching console integrates a computer, monitor, VCR and image projector into the instructional landscape. Many classrooms are also equipped with touch-sensitive control systems and touch-sensitive interactive whiteboards or monitors. The computer interactive classrooms provide a teaching workstation, networked computers, an image projector and a 20 square foot wall-mounted touch-sensitive whiteboard. Coe Learning Center


Open 24 Hours / 7 Days a Week

* Use your Ncard at the east building entrance at night and on weekends to get into the building. Use your Ncard again on the Coe Learning Center door, Room 18.

Exceptions to Above Hours

• Closed: Student Holidays.
• Any changes will be posted in the COE Center.

Mission & Hours of Operation

The mission of the Coe Learning Center is to provide a user-friendly environment where students have access to state-of-the-art information technology which includes computer hardware, software, databases, and multimedia applications in support of the teaching and learning experience at the College of Business Administration, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Our new, enhanced Coe Learning Center now includes laptop lounge chairs, a conference room, coffee vending and a more spacious and aesthetically pleasing layout. In addition, the new lab has been upgraded with 38 new Dell OptiPlex 760 PCs and two Apple iMacs.

Active Directory Account Activation

For logging on to lab computers or for printing, you need to enable your Active Directory account. Visit adactivation.unl.edu and follow the instructions on the web form.

Already activated your account but don't remember your password? Just fill out the form again and pick a new password.

Login Information

You can also use the coelab account to log onto any CBA computer lab machine.

Uniprint

The Uniprint system is a pre-paid printing account that you can refill online. The system uses your Active Directory username and password. Visit uniprint.unl.edu to refill your account or check your account balance.

Laptop Printing

If you have a laptop running Windows XP or later, you can download and install the Uniprint software and printer driver for the Coe Learning Center printer. This will allow you to print directly from your laptop through the wireless network.

Complete these steps:
  • Download the installation file.
  • Run the installation file, and click Install to begin.
  • Once the installation is complete, click Finish.
  • To print, select the Coe Lab B&W printer.
Other Open Labs

Rooms 12, 14, 33/38, and the Writing Lab are now open 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday. These labs have the same software installed as the Coe Learning Center. Feel free to use any of these rooms if there is no class in session. Check the schedule posted outside the door of each room.

Reserving the Conference Room 18B

Individual students or student groups may reserve the student conference room in the Coe Learning Center for videoconferences or group meetings. Please submit a serivce request to make reservations or get additional information.

Technical Assistance

The ITS Help Center is located in Room 119. We will be available for technical assistance between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday. We are happy to help when there is truly a technical problem with the equipment or software, but we cannot provide any assistance or answers on homework assignments, quizzes, or tests. Academic dishonesty is strictly against University policy.

Wireless Network

The Coe Learning Center has wireless networking for you to access the Internet and print directly from your laptop. You'll need to register the physical address of your wireless card with UNL before you can access the network. For detailed instructions on finding your physical address and registering your card visit the Connecting to Wireless help section of the Tutorials, or bring your laptop to the ITS Help Center for assistance. Once your card is registered, connect to the wireless network called UNL-AIR.

Saving Locally

The Coe Learning Space computers do not keep any files or information saved to the Desktop or My Documents locations of the individual computers. Please do not save any work to the computers themselves because it will be lost. Instead, please save your work to the Public Drive (P:) or a USB flash drive.

The E.J. Faulkner Small Group Writing Lab is designed to help CBA faculty incorporate language instruction into selected courses.

Computing Classrooms

CBA IT Services designs, maintains, and supports the College's three interactive computing classrooms. Each room provides a teaching workstation, student computers, an image projector, and a touch sensitive Smart screen. These classrooms provide a multifunctional learning environment encompassing computer interactive group work, interactive/lecture, and individual lab work.
