The Marketing Department in the College of Business Administration at the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for the position of the Department Chair
starting Fall 2012.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or DBA in marketing or a related discipline from an
AACSB accredited School or College of Business. In addition, they should have a
record of distinguished teaching, research and service; excellent interpersonal,
organizational and leadership skills; and the ability to work with multiple
constituents. Experience as a department chair, or in academic administration
is preferred. Senior Associate or Full Professors are encouraged to apply.
The Department of Marketing is one of five academic departments in the College of
Business Administration. The department has nine full time faculty members and
will be hiring additional faculty in 2012-2013. The department offers undergraduate,
master’s, and doctoral programs and is home to one of the largest undergraduate
majors in the college.
Under the leadership of Dean Donde Plowman and Associate Deans Kathy Farrell and
Ravi Sohi, the research, teaching, and engagement missions of the College have
been significantly refocused to align with the university’s entrance into the Big
Ten. The college continues to build on and further develop its research strength.
Increased support for research and close proximity to thriving business communities
of Omaha and Lincoln help advance the college’s goals. The college prides itself in

Salary is competitive. Depending on qualifications, an endowed professorship may
