Professor Sang M. Lee is currently the University Eminent Scholar, Regents Distinguished Professor, and Executive Director of the Nebraska Productivity and Entrepreneurship Center. He received his Ph.D. degree in Management from the
University of Georgia in 1969. He also servedas Professor at
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University prior to coming to the
University of Nebraska in 1976. Dr. Lee is currently President of the Pan-Pacific Business Association, an internationalscholarly society of over 4,000 members in 35 countries. He also served as President of the Decision Sciences Institute. Currently, he is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, Decision Sciences Institute, and Pan-Pacific Business Association. He has organized 32 international conferences as the Program Chair. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Service Business: An International Journal, and is on the editorial board of 23 journals, and has been listed in more than 50 Who's Who publications, including Who's Who in America. Dr. Lee is an internationally known expert in the fields of decision sciences, productivity management, and global business. His pioneering work in Goal Programming and Multiple Objective Decision Making has been widely recognized throughout the world. Recently, his research in Eastern Europe's economic transition and development of world-class organizations has been widely published. He has received numerous honors for his professional work including the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation Leavey Award, Outstanding Research and Creativity Activity Award at the University of Nebraska, Distinguished Teaching Award at both Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the University of Nebraska, and four honorary doctorates. Dr. Lee has authored or co-authored 57 books, mostly in the field of management. He has published more than 260 journal articles, and 750 original papers, and has presented over 2,000 speeches. He has visited over 160 universities as a distinguished visiting scholar around the globe. He helped establish the first ever MBA program at the University of Tirana, Albania and the Ph.D. Program in Business at Bangkok University, Thailand. He has had a number of funded projects totaling more than $8 million. He is a frequent consultant and trainer for a number of business, non-profit, and government organizations in the U.S. and abroad.
