The DREAMBIG Academy (Develop, Risk, Empower, Achieve, Maximize, Build, Innovate, Grow) provides diverse, upcoming high school seniors the opportunity to learn about the dynamic world of business and potential career opportunities at the College of Business of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The summer academy emphasizes leadership, networking skills and success in the business world. The week will also consist of fun activities across the University campus including staying in a residence hall and meeting new friends from across Nebraska.

Speed Networking Event and Reception

The DREAMBIG Academy Speed Networking Event and Reception with high school rising seniors who are learning about business and leadership takes place Wednesday, July 19, from 6-8 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Colonial Room at 1400 R Street in Lincoln. Light refreshments will be served.

Dress is business casual to business professional attire. Please bring business cards and your nametag.

Who is Selected to Attend DREAMBIG Academy?

  • High school juniors expected to graduate in May 2018
  • First generation college student
  • Underrepresented identity
  • Students who have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Meet federal guidelines for low income status or qualify for free or reduced lunch
  • Those who are interested in business

What Participants Will Do?

  • Learn about the world of business
  • Participate in a college experience first-hand -- academically and socially
  • Network with peers, business leaders as well as UNL faculty and staff
  • Tour local businesses
  • Align skills with their career goals
  • Present their ideas in a professional context
  • Learn about opportunities at UNL
  • Qualify for the Emerging Leaders Scholarship for completing the program
