GASP IV provides an alternative to the several better known and often used simulation languages such as GPSS, SIMSCRIPT, and DYNAMO. Whereas GPSS and SIMSCRIPT are discrete change languages and DYNAMO is a continuous change simulator, ? GASP IV has the unique capability to perform a combination of both discrete and continuous change in the same simulation. Thus, one may perform the more traditional discrete simulation of business problems such as queueing, inventory, production, etc., or the `Forrester' (systems dynamics) type models may be simulated with GASP IV. Systems that include a combination of both discrete events and continuous change variables can be readily analyzed with GASP IV.
