In this study, expectations that influence job seekers to seek employment in small businesses are examined. Based on expectancy theory, employment seekers are expected to consider job information from small companies when they have positive expectations about such companies. Even if these small companies lack capacity to provide comparative compensation in the short run, it is proposed that monetary rewards in the long term, potential higher position, better job-person fit, and favorable work environment might persuade job seekers to consider employment in them.
