A. Lynn (Phillips) Matthews is a doctoral candidate in the Marketing Department. She earned her BA in Sociology from Grove City College has a Master's degree in Survey Research and Methodology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She joined the Marketing Ph.D. program at UNL in 2013, receiving an Othmer Fellowship.
Her research interests are in brand management with a focus on human and personal branding, branding for start-up and small firms, and impact of firm behaviors (e.g. CSR, controversy, scandal) on brands. In her dissertation, she is using mixed methods to examine perceived authenticity in human branded services. She also maintains her interest in methodology. She is a mixed-methods researcher, enjoys teaching marketing research, and her coauthored work in the survey methods field has been published in the Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology and the Hastings Business Law Journal.
